DC2 was standing at 7 months and walking two weeks later
DC3 was standing at 9 months and walking at apx 14 months
DC4 was standing at 8 months and walking at 12 months

What do you mean by standing? I'm asking about once they start standing up without holding on to anything.

DS is 17 months, has been able to stand for at least 3 months, can take a few steps unassisted if he is motivated, but is in no way walking. (No, I'm not worried, just don't want everyone to know the ages of my kids.)

Hows that? If he was walking, he was obviously standing without holding on.

Once my baby could stand unassisted I encouraged him to walk by standing 2 feet away and coaxing him to come. it worked within days.

I taped chocolate to the wall and positioned him three baby feet away. Then I let go of him and he walked to the bar. I did it over and over again. We all stood and laughed.
