Not a work-at-home mom YET

Hey Ladies,

I'm not a work-at-home mom YET-- I'm hoping that some kind of writing/editing thing will take off when my husband and I make Aliyah-- but I just wasn't sure where to post this. Where I work now is the first Jewish, nevermind frum, environment I've ever worked in. So I was really excited to be hired here and as a writer, no less, which is definitely something I would love to do all day and get paid for it. The only problem is that my boss is the Administrative Executive of the whole organization, a small and local community organization, but one that is constantly humming and drumming with Beth Din meetings, Kashruth queries, etc. Being that my boss is always multi-tasking, and that this is the first time that organization is having someone in my position, he seems to be having trouble working me into the routine around here. I've been here since February and barely anything of mine has been printed or put on their website. I constantly get the feeling that my boss is avoiding me so that he won't have to think of more projects, as well as the hunch that I may not be here for much longer. I may be reading a little too much into things, but the situation has definitely become awkward. My husband says that I'm doing everything I'm told to do, and there's no reason why my boss should be unhappy with my work. Little things here and there make me feel a bit alienated-- like how everyone received gift baskets for Yontif except me. I half want to just quit quietly and try to find something else, but I also want to try and make it work, maybe with a talk with the boss. What should I do? I'm only 20, and I'm not sure how much right I have to assert myself. But as a kalla in my Shana Rishona, I don't think it's good to be on my toes all the time, just waiting for my boss to fire me. Oy! Does anyone have some advice?
