For food? No. Kashrus is a concern. For everything else? I started years ago. Nearly my whole house is dumpster dived.

I go dumpster diving sometimes. Great way to get free food. Also, it's ridiculous the way perfectly good food is thrown out the day it expires.

No, I just look at what is on the top of the dumpster/of the pile. I don't dig through bags.

sequoia, how do you ensure the food is kosher?

Seraph you can totally establish a branch of "City Harvest" in EY, collecting leftover food from simchas and corporate banquets that would otherwise go to the garbage, and redistribute them to the poor...

man that's expensive. I usually throw in mishpacha and bina in a HUGE grocery order so another 10 to the 155 I don't notice as much. today I went to the grocery and bought those 3 magazines, a sandwich and 2 drinks and it was $15 and change.

I have a dr's appointment tomorrow and am expecting a long wait so I bought AMI to try it out........
