Anyone know anything about this site? My friend's daughter seems to go on it quite often and she wants to know what it is. I took a quick look, but if anyone has more info it would be appreciated.

I used to go on it as a kid. There's a moderator who claims he's some well-known Rabbi but would never answer questions as to where he's located or any other info. It seemed really shady and then there were untznius topics like platonic relationships or TMI for a 13 year old...that's when I stopped going on. This Rabbi/moderator seemed crazy. Could be it's changed since I was a teen though...

Personally the site helped me a lot when I was going through a rough patch in my teenage years and to find others dealing with the same gave me such chizuk!

The site did A LOT for me and DH as teenagers, me being "OTD" and DH a BT. DH knows "Rav Moderator". He chooses to keep anon for many good reasons but that doesn't make him any less of a positive influence for a teen. If you are letting your kids hang out online and they want to be on frumteens or hashkafa instead of tmz and non-Jewish forums, you're a lucky mom

I used to be on frumteens when I was younger, too. It is one of more kosher sites for teens - although I would not advise it for younger teens as it does deal with some pretty tough topics.

I'm sorry to seem argumentative, but if your so called young teens have unsupervised access to Internet they are bring exposed to a lit worse than anything frumteens has to offer. And I'd rather my child be exposed to these topics from the proper perspective then from Gd only knows where! These days any age with teen in it is not too young to discuss negia, platonic relationships, etc. IMO

I agree with you, MrsMortgage - but I didn't feel it was my place to say that younger teens shouldn't have unsupervised Internet access at all.

I certainly would rather teens have exposure to such topics from a frum perspective than any other, chas veshalom.

Yes and no, previous poster.. As a mother of teens, I want to know to know what defines 'frum perspective'.

The 'mod' says many bizarre things that sound like extreme chumras, or just not how the Oilam is noheg, and never brings his sources, it makes me uncomfortable..
