We are iy"H going to be in Israel for about 3 weeks in June and we would like to stay within walking distance to the Kotel for Shavuos and the Shabbas afterwards. We are looking at renting an apartment but I'm not sure which neighborhoods we should be looking at. We have a 6 month old baby so would want something that isn't too long of a walk.
How far are Katamon, Rechavia, and Talpiot for example? We were thinking about looking for meal hosts on Shabbat.com so we would want to stay in a place where we can find hosts Smile

TIA

Answer really depends on how far you are prepared to walk. If you have any idea of how many minutes this would help. Parts of Rechavia are within walking distance to the Kotel. Much of Talpiot and Katamon although walkable may be too far as the weather could possibly be too hot but in the same area as those two is Baka or Emek Refaim (German Colony) which is slightly closer. I'll try to find out from my brother who lives in that area how many minutes it takes to walk as his family goes many years on Shavuot.
