I wished I had done this months ago. Computer went bonkers! Slowest possible, lost pages online, etc.
Called HP, my computer's manufacturer. Presto, all is well. BH
The secret? They returned my computer to factory's original settings. This erased a problem file which had introduced a virus onto my computer hardware.
A most happy day!
Recommend you consider this possibility if needed.
Technician shared an interesting thought. If your computer takes more than 2 minutes to "start up" , a virus may be the cause.

Sad to say, I had nothing worthwhile to lose.
All I do on my computer: Imamother, e mail , and Internet.
I don't know what a "file" is.
Would not recognize one- if it poked me in the eye!
Of course I have virus protection. An itty bitty little one snuck in. It happens!
OF course, I had the option of backing my files up. Then again, WHAT ARE FILES! AND ..... I already had my nails done!
