Does anyone go to a NYC "high-end" salon for their sheitels? I'm looking for recs.

I don't live in NY but I went to an AMAZING sheital macher in bklyn when I was there- her name is Pessy.
I think shes on new utrecht. maybe s/o in bklyn knows who I'm talking about.

I wouldn't use a salon. They are used to hair, not wigs.

Gloria at Claire Accuhair does an amazing job cutting shaitels.
She's a hairdresser at a regular salon in Long Island and is the primary person who cuts shaitels by them. As far as I know, she will cut a shaitel from anywhere.
Also, Milano has a woman who cuts shaitels in Monsey. She is very talented, and does a great job layering.
They can probably give you her name and information.

I know there are many women on the UWS who go to someone at the Butterfly Studio in Manhattan. There is an asian women who cuts them and has for years http://butterflystudiosalon.com/
I know they do a lot of cuts for breast cancer patients.
Mark Garrison on the east side (East 60th) also cuts - and used to sell wigs as well. 212-400-8000. Definitely get pricing AHEAD of time.

When I was single, I used to get my hair cut at Vidal Sassoon in the city. They told me that they're very comfortable with wigs too, although I admit that I moved away before it was ever an issue for me. I would have used them, though. They consistently did a great job on my hair, and getting your sheitel into one of the outer boroughs when you live in the city is a major pain. They're pretty expensive, though.
