My Jewish womens choir (Kol Rina Choir)is getting ready to record & produce our very first CD!

We want to give the CD a "name" (example of one that's been done... Shma Koleinu)

Once we have a name, I will design the cover incorporating the name as part of the concept.

If any of you have any ideas for names, we would love to hear them.

If you want to get a better idea of what our choir is like, you can visit our website, at http://www.kolrina.ca.tt

TIA,

Thanks for the suggestion :-)

I wonder if there would be copyright issues with that though?

What kind of songs are they? Are they from tehillim etc.
I was thinking like "laKol zeman vo-ait"
or Esa Ainei or along those lines.

Why don't you just call it Kol Rinah.

And next tape you can just add number 2....

How about "kol Isha"

That way it reminds you what you are and who is singing, and you have the Kol part in the name

It may also remind any n=men seeing teh CD they shouldnt listen to it. if that is their psak

I also sing in a women's choir, and we recorded a CD. We named it after our "signature" song -- the words are a well-known phrase from Jewish sources. There's no copyright problem that I am aware of, unless you are taking someone's original lyrics, perhaps, and using that for a title.

A composer who sets Torah words to music can copyright the melody and/or the arrangement, but not the words! Wink

My vote goes to "Kol Rina" since it's common for first albums to be named just the group's name. You can put under it the name of your choir's favorite song that's on the CD... the one that everyone loves, maybe the one that will be first or last on the CD.

Hatzlacha!! And woohoo for women's choirs!! Cheers
