Hello -- my son is in college now and wants to spend time in Israel but all day learning is not for him. Is there anything like Livnot U'Lehibanot for frum guys? I asked LUL once and they said it was not for frummies...

Have already looked at Touro in Israel but those courses are not applicable.

TIA for any and all suggestions...

check out ais machal- it's a great program for guys who can volunteer and do the army for a year. it involved intense ulpan, army training, and then volunteering for the army. it's great for guys who want to be in israel, but can't learn for the whole year. they also give basic classes in the training and some learning. the guys love it.

How much time is he hoping to spend here? Is he looking for a summer program, a semester program, a year abroad... ?

Does he have any preferences beyond that it not involve full-time learning? IE does he want part-time learning, or volunteering, or traveling, things like that.
