Super looser here ...some of my excuses:
Add your own Very Happy :

It's a mitzvah to eat a festive meal
It puts me on simcha
It avoids bal tashchit( eating baby's latkes leftovers)
I deserved it after making them (sufganiot & Latkes) Twisted Evil
Chocolates were a gift so I ate to show gratitude .

I'm winning. Passed on donuts twice, made spaghetti squash latkes tonight and they were yum and WAY less guilt. Only 6 more days to go....

Anon, only b/c I have already talked to two of my friends about the spaghetti squash latkes, and then they'd know my name here (I think I'm still in denial that people IRL don't know who I am here).

So far seven latkes and two jelly doughnuts. Five more days to go, but I am not planning to make latkes again this Chanukah. Dh asked me to please not make doughnuts, as we are both on diets, so I guess I'll listen to him. Kids will be getting in school, so we don't even have an excuse to buy any more.

However, coming up are fried schnitzel and fried blintzes. Also lots of goodies for Shabbos. I hope not to gain more than 1-2 pounds. So far I'm breaking even.
