Honestly, I think flowers are the best centerpieces! That being said, DS' birthday is on Sunday, and the kiddush will be the following Shabbos - so if I went with flowers, I'd need to buy 2 sets!

Here are the Tefillin centerpieces I made, which I can use at the Sunday dinner and Shabbos. And also for my 11 year old and 9 year old DS's bar mitzvahs!

I ordered black sparkling ting, silver sparkling ting, and silver metallic ting at AwesomeEvent.com: http://www.awesomeevent.com/Cu......aspx

I ordered cardboard little tefillins at Blums: http://www.blumspapergoods.com.....n.php

Then I cut the curly part off the top of the ting, and made a hole in the tefillin, and put the stick into the hole. I also curled sheer black or silver wire ribbon and put it through the tefillin to resemble straps and add visual interest.

Beautiful job -- I think though that first photo you posted is a mistake.

Look again. On the left side of the dresser you'll see the centerpiece not so close up.

Oh, I just wanted you to see the centerpiece from far!

And I don't usually live in a bar, this is just prep for the simcha on our buffet!
