Looks unanimous. Quinoa is actually a grass-not a seed. So is rice. But rice is mezonos. So it can be confusing!

Maybe quinoa is the rice category? We don't make a beracha on rice - I make sure to have something mezonos, haadama and shehakol on the plate when I serve rice.

Why?

I would actually like to know the rationale behind the idea of saying mezonos on rice. I thought mezonos was the brocha on things made from the chameishes minei dagan (five types of grain). Rice isn't one of them, what's the hava amina that we should say mezonos?

Rice is Mezonos. The Bracha Acharona is Borei Nefashos. I can try to find out/remind myself of the reasoning behind this.
