I had a couple of stomach pains right away - could have been psychological though - but was fine right afterwards.

There is no need to be scared to eat unrefrigerated yougurt. Yougurt is cultured milk. Milk is cultured at room temperature. The worst that could happen you'll get a yougurt that's a bit more sour, and has more of those good for you lactobacteria...

In these cold days we leave our OJ out of the fridge near the kitchen dor and it is almost frozen.
so I dont know where you left your yogurt? Near the steam?
