We are meant to keep our mind on Tisha B'AV until chatzos, so I am wondering what to do with my teens.

Any ideas for movies or documentaries that can keep us focused on the day?

Or at least, something sad (but not disturbing) to keep us in the right mood?

I have watched schindler's list and a documentary about the kindertrop one year.
I remember in sleep away camp, every summer on tisha b'av they would show us operation thunderbolt, the story of entebbe resuce mission.

I can't believe you would include The Boy in the Striped Pajamas sad but not disturbing, but to each her own.

Thecooljew.net usually posts videos you can watch that are appropriate for the day. That's what we did a good part of last year Tisha B'Av.

There's also Aish, if you're interested in such things.

We're thinking of these:

Jakob the Liar

Genocide

Darkness

The Aryan Couple

Ghetto

I dont know if any of these are any good, though.

One Day in September seems particularly appropriate.

We've got Escape from Sobibor taped for this year and one of the shuls is showing it too. I also have some documentaries on Auschwitz. We tried The Pianist one year and Shoah.

Aish.com is good for both articles and short videos.
