can you give me your tried and true exact recipe for meat knish?
I know its basically chopped meat in puff pastry but the few times I tried to make it using my regular meatball recipe it did not come out good.
So I would really appreciate an exact recipe with clear instructions.
TIA!

Sautee 2 diced onions. Add 1 lb. chopped meat. Cook, breaking up clumps with a fork as you cook. Add spices (minced garlic, paprika, dash of salt, possibly cumin). When fully cooked, remove from heat. Add a tablespoon or two of flour to absorb the liquid. Mix.
Roll out pastry dough. Cut into squares and put a spoon of meat filling into each. Close, "gluing" with a few drops of water if necessary. Or, make a long knish roll. Place seam-side down on a baking tray. Brush with beaten egg, if you'd like.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 C) for about 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

saute onions, green pepper, ground beef - don't have to be well done
pepper, paprika, can add some salsa if would like
mix in egg (according to proportion - so that ground beef binds somewhat)
Roll up into pastry dough, schmear with egg, sprinkle sesame seeds

I do a meat pie in a frozen pie crust topped with a frozen pie crust, but you could probably do the same recipe as individuals
this recipe is enough for 2 meat pies (4 pie crusts
3 lbs. chopped meat
1 bottle La Choy sweet and sour sauce
1 c duck sauce (I like the spicy garlic)
garlic powder
onion powder
bake bottom pie crust for abt. 10 min.
brown meat, add sauces and spices, cook till slightly thickened
egg top and bake until browned, abt. 1/2 hr.

Thank you all so much!
I think I'm gonna try merelyme's one. It seems like the simplest one the is not like mine (c.c's is to close to mine so I'm scared to use it)
I'll let you know how it came out!
