I just received this email, so all you Brits who live here that dop not want to pay more tax on your car I advise you to signthgis petition. Remember we are the highest tax paying country in the world.

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.

The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver.

A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.

On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times.

They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill.

If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website.

It's not the taxing aspect that bothers me; from the examples given I think we are likely to be better off. I think the fact that the government would have yet another way of knowing what we are all up to and where we are going is a bit.... well, Big Brother-ish.

Well the prtition closed on Friday and is making big headlines. Firstly it is the Prime Minister Tony blairs personnal website and secondly 1,802,691
people signed the petition. The PM is claiming that we people who signed it do not know what we are talking about. So he apparently has emailed everyone personnaly to tell nearly 1.8 million people that we are all WRONG!!!! So I received his so called personnal email and of course it's not changed my mind. This is a way for our great government to get more money out of us.
