I skimmed the articles and my impression was .
Lakewood at its finest , women in Lakewood are treated pretty much like blacks in the old south.
Why should they get b zmanim for ?

I must be missing something. I read the article and it's not abt Lakewood. It's a debate amongst principals whether giving high school girls Bein Hazmanim is a good idea or whether it is a time waster and time where girls just waste away or a time where girls get to help out etc.
Lakewood principals also weighed in but it wasn't abt them

maybe read the article objectively
it wasn't about lakewood, and it wasn't about women
the article is about a very common trend in many communities to give the high school girls an extended Pesach break. every school that gives the extended break does so specifically so that the girls can help their mothers prepare for Pesach. the question explored in the article was whether or not the girls are using the break for its intended purpose and if it is perhaps better chinuch for the girls to be in school, learning about the chag.

and I really don't get your allusion to slavery. "darkies" didn't go to school
