We are a family of 7 ke"h. We spend an average of $250 a week on food. Does this make sense? It includes groceries, fruits, veg. fish and meat.

yes, that sounds reasonable.
how old are your kids?
we're also a family of 7 (kids range from 3-14) and we spend around that too. if you have mostly teens I'm surprised its not more.

Reasonable depends on your individual circumstances. Where you live, what your dietary needs are, and how much of your total income that represents. If it works for you, good. If it doesn't work for you, reevaluate.
