Read a thread from several years ago and looking for some new ideas. (BTW- goodreads.com is a great resource).
Here are some of my favorites:
Lolly Winston- Good Grief. Probably one of the best books I have ever read.
Jennifer Weiner- Good in Bed and In Her Shoes- also amazing (have read them all but didnt like the rest so much)
Beth Harbison- Shoe Addicts Anonymous series, Always something there to remind me etc
Sophie Kinsella- I only like the Shopaholic series
Plum Sykes- Bergdorf Blondes and Divorce Debuantes
Linda Francis Lee- Ladies who Lunch
Meg Cabot- anything by her
Linda Wolf- Diary of a mad bride/ mad mother to be
The bright side of Disaster (can't remember author)

I am also a secret lover of all historical romance, especially Judith McNaught.

Any other books along these lines you can recommend? I am not a fan of Emily Giffin, Jane Green, Anna Maxted and those sorts of stories.

I don't do much chick lit but have come across a few lately. 150 Lbs. was good.
And In the Bag by Kate Klise.
Not strictly chick lit but might be satisfying:
The Cookbook Collector - Allegra Goodman
The Mossy Creek series - Deborah Smith, et al
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (don't let the title scare you off. You'll reread the last few pages till you memorize them Wink
