Brand new Yishuvim are for very young couples or singles, everyone struggling

There's really no more socialistic life in Israel today - Even most of the Kibbutzim fell apart as people became more capitalistic as they saw how the outside world was moving. as the kids grow up they want more things that cost (computers, summer camp, better computers, smart phones, cars...) - (What's good here is that a lot of teens work to earn money for things that our parents paid for in Chu"l - Driving Lessons is a good example, Of course, our parents didn't have to mortgage their house to afford driving lessons)

The people who started my Yishuv are almost 60 now. They came with almost nothing except a college degree and ideology. Some people earn more, some less but we're not in that competition of having everything. BUT, lately there have been new olim moving in. They come when they're close to 30. They have good careers with experience (they don;t come till they're sure of a job). They sell houses that they bought a few years in the States. They have these full bank accounts. They come with a few kids and are used to American life. Ask for a recipe and they rattle of a list of ingredients that you can only get in a specialty store (not in my budget) - Then they ask about summer camps for their kids. (our matnas has 3 weeks of camp till 1 PM - after that....)

Don't get me wrong - These people are great. They're really full of ideology and they really left the good life in America to come to Israel but I'm very relieved that my yougest (12 yo) just missed these olim kids - we wouldn't be able to keep up.

chani8 - what kind of people do you have interested in starting a new moshav? - People here? How old? How established in life? How big are their kids?
