I need to take someone close to me for a wig, she recently lost her hair and is in desperate need of a good wig that needs not much maintenance, and will be constantly worn.
Does anyone know where is should start?!? I'm at a total loss (bh never had to do this)
I saw fortune wigs have a line of wigs for people experiencing hair loss, does anyone have review on their wigs, costumer service etc?
I guess any help anyone can offer I would really appreciated
Thank you

I think the name of the wig is called soniya. They're sold in Brooklyn, they're natural and can be washed by yourself. I don't know who sells them

This is a good site for hair loss:

This is their shampoo, wig stand, and other things:

They have a phone number for questions about this situation.

Many sheital machers will also cater for hair loss, phone a few and ask. The essence of a wig is unchanged whatever the reason for it's use, but the method of securing it will be slightly different.

Claire Accuhair in brooklyn specializes in chemo and alopecia patients. their number is 718 998 6043. They also have someone who can teach the person how to handle it herself. its worth a look.

Does the person have thinning hair where they could use a yamulkah cap type wig? Those look natural as opposed full wigs.

She should be able to wear any wig if she wears a Wig Grip underneath.

A synthetic can be made to fit snugger or looser. They also come in petite, average, and large. If it is too snug, you take a scissors and snip the elastic at the bottom at the back, one snip only. It won't fall apart and it will be looser. There are little hooks to pull it tighter on you.

They are soft and light. You can wear it with a wig cap underneath or just wear the wig alone. Whatever feels good.

A synthetic is easy to rinse in the sink in cold water with five drops of wig shampoo (only use wig shampoo), press in a towel, and air-dry overnight on an open wig stand.

A very wide-tooth comb is used, when the wig is quite dry.

The style snaps back after washing; the wig does not need to be set.

They style and scrunch with the hands. Shake them out, so they don't look too neat. They can improve with age.

The bangs and ends can be trimmed.

One cannot change the color, however.

It is good to have a few around ready to go, and to try different styles.

They last at least two years. Eventually the ends get frizzy.

They are not affected by rain. Heat from the stove or the clothes dryer is not good for them. Only use cold water.

They are ventilated ("capless") and not unpleasant in hot weather.

Wash before first use.
