What would a salary be for an EC Director at a prestigious Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School in the Tri-State area... Like Yeshiva of Flatbush... Ramaz... SAR...

I applied for a job and am about to go on the third interview which I assume will include salary negotiations.

I am currently out of state.

Do you think I can negotiate moving expenses?
First/last months rent?

I would appreciate feedback...

I wish I had an answer for you but I don't live in the tri state area.
I am curious to hear what people are being paid though so I will lurk around on this thread until people reply...

IME, it never hurts to ask. Negotiate salary basics first, and discuss extras second. Moving expenses are sometimes covered by a new employer. I have never heard of first/last months rent being covered, especially in a field like ECE, which is not known for high salaries and perks.

The usual advice is to let them mention a figure first.

If all else fails, you could try calling the local JVS (Jewish vocational services). Explain your questions to one of their counselors, and ask where to turn to find answers.
