Is this a reasonable rate?

We are moving and just got a quote from a moving company. $2200 flat rate- so worries about going over time- and this includes the truck, labor, taking apart an putting back together, and packing materials. No surprises, this is the rate even if they take more time than estimated or unexpected complications (within reason) arrive. My mother, who made a move last year and had some nasty surprises, thinks this is a bargain. Dh thinks its a rip-off. While he's right in that its a bit more expensive and covers things we may not end up needing, I do worry about certain incidentals that may otherwise add up. Dh in general tends to believe cheapest is best without considering the hidden costs and how sometimes it could be worth it to pay a little more for certain assurances. So, wdyt?

We paid more than that for our last move. After having too many friends get a nasty surprise of being charged for overtime which wasn't expected we felt it was better to go with a flat rate and ended up paying less than most of the people we know who moved around the same time.

Getting a flat rate upfront is soo worth it because they always spring you with all these extra fees if not- we had a lot of friends who were stuck with much higher costs at the end. what kind of move is it? the price sounds pretty reasonable, but that depends on how much stuff you have and what size home you are moving from.
Are you moving from a house or an apartment? which area?

Op here. I thought so. We are in NY, moving from one neighborhood to a different one. From an apt to a house.

When we moved we had 3 movers give estimates after coming to our place. Companies don't charge for that so why not have another company come also
