I'm BH having a baby girl in a couple of weeks! I like less common names, and was planning on emunah. we just realized we can't use that name because of a family issue.
I was really really really in love with the name and can't 'settle' on any of our second choices, so I'm asking for suggestions for meaningful girls names that are in a similar vein as emunah.
note: my dh is concerned that the name should at least toe the line of being yeshivishe. I suggested 'neshama' and he was horrified because of the carlbach references.
thanks for all suggestions!

Tehilla
Hadasa
Tiferes
Ruchama (especially good for a baby born during the 7 d'nechemta)

op here:
thanks! some of those are actually the top ones on our list, temima, especially.
what do you'all think of Moriyah? I like it but am scared it will end up pronounced as Maria.
also considering Amalya, though my dh is not so into that.

Moriyah and amalya are beautiful names... If anything moriyah may be pronounced ma-rye-uh not Maria.
Some other names:
Shalva
Chedva

There's a famous (non-Jewish) singer Mariah Carey... I think anyone familiar with her will pronounce the name like that - Ma-rye-uh.
Just out of curiosity, how IS it supposed to be pronounced? I'm a teacher. If I saw a student's name on my class list spelled "Moriyah", I wouldn't know if it's a "ree" or a "rye" sound in middle.
Personally - I don't like the name.
Temima can be cute! Go with that! That's got my vote :-)

thanks for the idea for Tikvah! thats one I hadn't considered!
I appreciate the feedback on moriyah, and btw, its mo-ree-ya, as in the location of the akeidah, etc.

my name is Moriah, and it is pronounced Mo-REE-ah, like the har ha-Moriah in the Torah... I have seen it spelled Moriyah also.. It is pretty common in Israel, but not at all common in the US, where I live. It is sometimes mispronounced by people, the only time it annoys me is when its a teacher who just doesn't bother to learn the way that you pronounce it. There have been non-jews who called me Ma-rye-ah (I don't have a separate english name) but other jewish names have been mangled in worse ways, so it doesn't really bother me.
I also like Temima and Shalva, and Love Ruchama!
good luck and be-sha'ah tovah!

LOL- Moria can also be a Lord of the Rings reference. Pretty cute for a geek to do since it is also a Hebrew name... It would be like naming your daughter Zelda as a Jewish name and video game reference.
I like Temima, too. Nechama/Ruchama is nice because of the timing.
And I *love* Amalya. No luck with that?

Nope, no luck with amalya....yet. I especially love it cuz on an older thtead I saw someone connect it to "umul hashem as levavcha ..." and therefore to would. Looked up the possuk Wuh rishonim and its truly beautiful. Oh well.
I'm loving all the suggestions and opinions here.
