I have a close wedding next week and would like to wear my elegant dress.
Someone told me dresses are outdated and two pieces is what goes now.
I still love something about the elegance of a dress. It's a simple midi dress with a nice flair to it.

How nebby will I be if I wear one?

This is too vague for posters to be helpful.

Where is this wedding? What type of wedding?

I don't understand Frum fashion. How could dresses ever be out of style? Maybe the style of the dress could be outdated, but a dress vs. a two piece outfit? No way.

A gorgeous dress is never out of style just for being a dress - if that makes sense. There are these two piece looks that are trendy now, but that doesn't make a dress option outdated.

Thanks everyone.
I guess dresses never really go out?

For those who asked, it's a typical Chassidsh wedding in Monsey.
I'm a very close first cousin.

Wear that dress you love.

And really, what's gonna happen if everyone is wearing a skirt and top and you are wearing a dress?

I got the joke too ... only after I stripped down - I had trouble locating the sheitel - cause I can't remember if it's under the bed or at the bottom of the closet - now it's pretty hard to laugh in said predicament

Those two piece looks look nice with an exposed midriff, and once you add in a shell in there it looses the look. A dress is pretty much timeless. As Maya said, a particular style may go out of a style, but not a dress for being a dress.
