A good sheitel marcher told me that Brazilian hair is now considered superior to European? Can any sheitel Machers or wig experts tell me if this is true? The hair feels amazing but I can't afford to make a costly mistake! I need wavy hair so I care about the hair quality a lot. I don't want frizz.

Brazilian ranges from light European to very ethnic.

When I was in Brazil a synthetic was $600 to $800 and human hair wigs were cheaper. I wasn't in the market at the time. I was out shopping and I stopped in a wig store. The synthetics were terrible looking - bright and shiny. I thought they would be $20 or $50 dollars. Ironically the synthetics appeared to be valued more than humans.

I met a frum sheital wholesale importor there. The price for each piece was cheap. I didn't buy any from him at his cost because one they needed to be reworked to American standards and I don't know who would do it and two I wasn't in the market. The hair was gorgeous though.

Perhaps someone who lives in Brazil could explain the disparity in prices. Perhaps the synthetics had to be imported and they have high protective tariffs.

I have a South American Shuly and get compliments on the quality from sheitel machers. It was cheaper than a European one.

A lot of people in South America are of European descent, so hair from there is likely to be the same texture and have the same physical characteristics as hair from any Caucasian person anywhere. So it's most likely just a matter of location, not a difference in the hair itself.
