There is a family of cats that pass through my backyard. I leave a water bowl for them each day.
Last night at 10:00 p.m, there was one kitten passed out, laying on its side. I thought it was dead. Then its mother came over and started licking it. Two minutes later, two other kittens also joined in and were licking the kitten.
Then the "dead" kitten lifted up its head, but its eyes were still closed. Its mother was still licking it. Ten seconds later, the kitten was back to normal. I saw it go soon afterwards to drink water.
