We are building a home on a budget. Our children have asthma and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth upgrading the heat from a forced air system possibly with humidifier and/or filter to baseboard heating. What do you know about asthma and heating? Thanks!

We had a forced air system but switched to baseboard (electric). It's more expensive, but I believe it's worth it. There's no air blowing out, so it doesn't cause asthma or dryness. We used to use humidifiers and/or vaporizers but it was really a pain having to keep up with the filters. We had to change them so often, and using a humidifier/vaporizer with a dirty filter just makes the asthma/allergies even worse.
The baseboard heating greatly changed our lives.

I have asthma and when we renovated we did radiant heat. I was able to get off inhalers. I don't know about budget, but it was worth it to me.
