What is this new trend all about? How did it started and why? I'm sorry that I'm so naive on this. And what happens to all peanut sensitive kids? May they wear the peanuts?

Yes peanut sensitive kids can wear them. Peanuts is the name of the cartoon, there are no peanuts in the materials.

The classic comic strip by Charles Schultz finally is being adapted for the big screen (computer animated), so I assume it's a marketing tie-in.
I've seen Peanuts stuff starting the summer (beach blankets, t-shirts) and continuing to autumn/winter stuff (trick-or-treat bags, sweaters, pajamas, etc.)

The hug, I suppose, is from someone who thinks you're either just that clueless or someone who understands you're making a joke but the joke is really stupid/not funny.
Sorry I agree
