What are some alternatives to rasha? Not names that start with R, but actual translation alternatives.

Sorry... the only meaning I know to Rasha = an evil person.
Is "your" Rasha a Yiddish name?

I know someone named Rasha- it's pronounced RAH-sha, like Rashi. She is called Rashi. I don't know what it means though.

Yup. And look forward to "menuval, ivail, soton," etc. in immediate reactions.
But yes, it is a name. So is Pesha, which might be on my family tree. I say might because Pessa is, and we're Litvish so maybe it was Pesha.
Pronounced correctly it's not jarring. But I don't know what it means to help OP.

OP, where was the bubby from? I know one name in extended family that has 2 different meanings, one in Polish, the other in Russian.

Her parents were Russian. She was American, born and bred.

I know a family that has a few Rassi's. I think in Lithuania, the shin was often pronounced like the sin. So it could have the same origin.

My mother a"h was Risa. My brother looked up the origin of the name and found in the Taz (who happens to be our ancestor) that the name comes from Rivka. Based on this he named his daughter Risa and they are calling her by the nickname Rikki, since it's often used for various forms of Rivka/Rika/Rikkel, etc....

I don't know if Rasha/Rassia are in any way related to Risa/Rivka.

I know a Rashka. It's probably a derivative of Rivka or Rochel.

I saw it spelled Rascha. It can sound nice as a second name.

What does it mean in Yiddish? Maybe you can find a similar hebrew name.
Personally I would not name a Yiddish name that can cause teasing unless it's a 2nd/or third name.

Lots of 'names' are in fact a shortened version of a more prevalent name.
