This year, once Sukkot is over I want to try drying out the etrog and hadass to keep in a bowl as a house decoration. Any tips on how to do this without them going mouldy?
Thanks...

Thanks... | Ive never had one get moldy. It just sort of starts shriveling up after a while, but thats all. It dries up and thats all.

I've saved every etrog for years. Now I have a bowl full of them. They get smaller and brown but there's no mold.

Just leave hadassim in a vase with no water. They'll dry and retain their green color. Etrogim shrivel up and turn brown and eventually look like big walnuts or something. Not terribly attractive when dried, but they stay yellow for a few weeks if not handled overly much. You could use a veggie peeler to peel off strips of the zest and dry those to mix with hadassim leaves as a kind of potpourri. But the zest will also turn brown when dried.
