So I bought this dress and had sleeves added, it looks great on me, but b/c its cotton, I feel it's too lightweight for fall/winter, but too dark pf color for spring summer.
WWYD?

Can pass for all year except July-august (if you're in NY!)

Beautiful dress. Wear it year round in good health.

I'm also in NY...I wouldn't wear that in the summer in Florida or Puerto Rico but in NY I would really wear it all year round. You have to wear light shoes in the summer and it's good to go.

Pretty dress! I don't wear a lot of black in the summer (except in the evening) because it is so hot.
I don't think a lightweight poplin dress would work in winter.

such a cool site!
I think I would wear it in the fall. But I would wear a vest on top of it.

Poplin is a lightweight fabric, so its a warm-weather dress.

where does one get one? I know my husband and I are not huge fans of the fur vest, but maybe for this dress...

*sigh* yes, this is the problem, when I was trying it on I felt the chill in my apartment and I was wearing a shell underneath. I was hoping that this was a dress I could wear now. As much as this is not in my control, but I was hoping that it wouldn't fit me come spring/summer Wink.

Another idea, can I get away with a mock turtleneck shell underneath to provide extra warmth?

sure wear a turtle neck [a mock one won't be much use] & ribbed/designed tights ... you'll be warmer

cotton to me is a year round fabric - cause I suffocate in other fabrics ... tangentially - black is not even for funerals because I find it so morbid

thanks, I got it long enough so I think regular black tights will suffice.
