emergency rooms? Mother has NJ Medicaid card, but is presently in New York. Infant is less than a week old, so doesn't have a card.
Getting a prescription is no problem, but where can it be done in or near Brooklyn on weekends a s a p?

any pediatrician can probably do it for you and send to a lab. (for a fee.)

Um, the baby would still be covered by the mother's policy at one week. NJ Medicaid gives 30-60 days...I know the NJ MEdicaid HMOs give 60 days. (ie. a baby born in May has until July 31st on mother's policy.)
Now, I don't know where NJ medicaid will be accepted in NY other than an emergency room.
With my limited knowledge, just get to an emergency room asap and worry about paying later (although it should be fine in an ER)...or, do you have friends in NY who know of a dr. open on sundays? Worry about payment later. I'll even send you a check. bli neder.

that's a relief, because the subject says: EMERGENCY, so one would naturally assume it IS a big deal.

Altho hopefully non life threatening, it's scary to look at a yellow baby and not know the Billirubin count for sure (Mohel estimated).

Two of my children needed bilirubin tests as newborns - I did it at the Quest Labs on E.14th and Kings Highway. And I believe they are open Sundays. They take Medicaid.

I wonder if I know you, amother.
cuz I know someone who lives in NJ who's baby was supposed to have a bris in NY today but was pushed off because of being yellow...
that said, I agree that probably only the ER with take medicaid if it's not from NY. Unless you want to pay the fee, then go to a pediatrician or lab.
