I think of rice or noodles as rather voch'dike, but to each his own, I guess..it's VERY easy to plop some raw superthin nooodles in the soup before Shabbos!!!!

Leek, turnip, parsnip, carrot, chicken bones, salt. Sometimes lockshen.

not everyone eats matzoh balls on pesach ... so ... they eat it year-round instead ...

Oh and as to what's actually in my soup:
I have 4 main ones--
1. A gigantic pot of chicken soup with a whole chicken in it, lots of potatos and veggies, a dash of olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a special blend of spices.
2. Beef cubes with onion, potato, carrot, mushroom, and okra if I can find it, plus more spices and sometimes tomato sauce (not ketchup!).
3. Potato & onion soup from Spice & Spirit with my own twists.
4. A hearty vegetable soup with tomato base.
Sometimes lokshen, sometimes matzo balls...
