HI, my little daughter has a full arm cast and can't go swimming in camp or anything that could make her fall!! I am sad for her as the camp spends the whole morning swimming every day. how can a little girl of 6 watch the whole camp swim every day in the hot sun for 6 weeks!!! I spoke to the camp and asked if she could stay with the secretary but what will she do? she can't color because it's her right hand and she can't read yet???

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

When my daughter had an arm in a cast during the summer we got her a plastic "glove" made for this in a surgical supplies shop. I wish I could remember the company, but I don't. We got a large size, so it should cover her entire arm. It has a strong seal where the arm goes in.
While it probably isn't good enough for a full dunking in water, it is definitely water proof enough for splashes. She can sit in the shallow end, or go wading...

I had my arm in a fiberglass cast for the first 6 weeks of summer, at the age of 10. TTYTH I went swimming in it. I was a real water baby, and there was no way I was going to miss out on swimming. Sometimes I blow-dried it after, and it got really yucky and itchy, and mid-way thru they took it off and put on a fresh cast....but I survived. I had one of those glove things but it didn't help for full submersion.

Refuah Shelaimah to your DD!

Can she sit in the shallow end & keep her arm out of the water? There are also special cast covers that some drug stores sell.

I have the same exact issue. This is the second year this happens to the same child. Last year she had appendicitis, no swimming till Dr allowed and this year, child fractured wrist and elbow first swimming day!!
I took her to a private pool, wore her that bag, showed her how to hold her hand up in the air the entire time. All of a sudden, the bag was full of water. Crying

We had to go back to Columbia hospital to have her cast replaced. (we went to Columbia in first place because we thought it needed hand surgery) To her bad luck, it was the day the teams were divided for sports and activities. She was so frustrated.
I asked them for a water proof cast. Believe it or not, they had no idea what I'm talking about!!!

Where on earth do you get that?
