Are you going to use a sugar substitute?
Most falshe fish recipes have sugar . Just like gefilte fish.

I believe you can omit the sugar. It will taste less 'fishy' Very Happy

Do it in rolls like gefilta fish, not like meatballs. It's way more appetizing. Wrap each roll In parchment paper & cook it in onions, carrots, salt, pepper & water just like gefilta fish.

Serve sliced , cold like fish . I've even served it with chrayonaise.

OP, your question could have been posted by me a few years ago... I've figured out how to do without sugar in a number of recipes for Pesach since!

I put lots of carrots into the 'fish' itself, and loads of onions into the pot/'fish' sauce to sweeten it as much as possible. Personally, I've tried doing 'loaves' so that I can slice it like regular fish rolls, but have found that balls worked better for me - they don't fall apart.

Also, I don't prepare these in advance and freeze, as they just don't taste right (and I am very much a "cook bulk and freeze" person). I make them mine erev bedikas chometz (tomorrow), and set aside the number of balls I need for shevi'I shel Pesach in a foil pan - with sauce - in the freezer. I fully defrost it erev second days, heat it up to boiling point, and only then do I cool it off and refrigerate. It doesn't have a freezer taste this way.

Good luck!
