My husband is looking to lose a lot of weight. He is pretty motivated. Can anyone tell me details of the new weight watchers program and also OA? He needs something sustainable. If there is any other sustainable diet out there that you know of please let me know as well. TIA

I would try weight watchers. It's definitely more sustainable. OA is a 12 step program with a lot of brainwashing.

I don't know about WW new program, they revamp every few years.
WW allows a certain amount of food using weight as a guide. If someone is motivated, they can choose when to have a treat. It's more sustainable my opinion as there's allowance for regular life.
OA is a 12 step program, where everyone introduces themselves as compulsive overeaters.
Members need sponsors that they call daily, have to go to actual and encouraged to join more meetings or phone meetings.
Food is very very limited and strict. Eating an extra carrot can be a major no no. I'm not sure OA rules exactly, I joined a similar group for a short while, it felt like a cult, everyone seemed so serious, no joy, just following the steps. I found it creepy.
I do know many that sear by it and have lost tons of weight, but it's kind of a life long club.
No washing hamotzi or wine at all.

OA is good for those who need it.
For everyone else, there's Weight Watchers.
