I think it’s ”sheek” as in the French pronunciation of the word chic.

There are people that say Kiddi "chick" , but that's because they are not familiar with the word chic or how to pronounce chic.

In Israel it is called keedee sheek. In USA the people call it kidi chick. The store is really called kidi shik.

I'm in the USA and never heard that. We all say kiddy-sheek. I haven't been there in a while but IIRC the signs/ads/bags (at least at the beginning?) were in both Hebrew and English which was a helpful clue.
