I BH have nursed all my kids. My baby is not gaining enough weight so the doctor recommended I supplement with formula. She gave me a sample can of powdered enfamil. I noticed that the first ingredient is corn syrup solids. What on Earth??? Isn't corn syrup unhealthy?? Isn't it the stuff we try to avoid using in recipes and giving our kids too much of???
So why is it ok for an infant to guzzle down? Im seriously confused.

High-fructose corn syrup is what is stigmatized. Its a different product.

Corn syrup is not a quality ingredient; companies use it because it's cheap. If you check ingredients, there are definitely more expensive options with higher quality ingredients.
