if you freeze it yourself you know exactly how long it's been in the freezer ... there's an advantage in that ... on occasion I do freeze if I've bought too much or for long yom tov ...

And what kind of quality you're getting too.

Plus it's nice to be able to cut it into portions and freeze that way. And not everywhere is there a significant price difference between fresh and frozen. For the little extra, I want fresh -- even if it does go into my freezer for a short stay.

I would be horrified if a store took back fish or meat. Who knows if it was kept under decent conditions? It might have been left out for a day, or repeatedly frozen and defrosted.

I totally agree, plus how can they still vouch for the kashrut? I dont get it.

As usual Green, I agree. At least it's bought fresh & then frozen. Also, when I buy it fresh, I use a couple of pieces that day so I do gain in that sense.

I've been laughing about the same thing. It's really cold in our apartment this morning, and I couldn't help thinking that we're as cold as poor little Salomon.

Actually, when you're on the highway (not sure which one) & you enter Brooklyn, there's a sign "Welcome to Brooklyn - fuhgedaboutit". It's spelled something like that. I can picture it in my head but when I type it it looks wrong. I know there's an "h" somewhere.

It's actually when you're leaving Brooklyn (I think it's on the Belt heading to LI). Anyways, here it is:

There's also another one I've seen (can't remember where) which says "Leaving Brooklyn - Oy Vey!"
