I love what this woman has done. I think its so smart....I do want to show the world that Orthodox Jews DO vaccinate.
Anybody know where we can find these magnets?

Believe me if you lived in Rockland County (monsey) right now you'd feel the need.

I guess you havent heard the antisemetic comments that I have.
Or the pleas, yes literal pleas of "listen I never had a problem with Jewish people before but please please can you all start vaccinating"
When I told her my child's school has a 99% vax rate she couldn't believe it. "But I thought you all dont vaccinate?"

Today I took my baby for her 9 month checkup and they saw that she was going to get the MMR. Two different nurses asked me "Mrs. Thunderstorm, did you always vaccinate your other kids? " and I said "of course, my oldest is 18". They literally start thinking that the no vax is part of being Orthodox . It felt really uncomfortable the way she asked it,even though I have always been pro vax.
The most frusterating thing is that the doctor told me not to go to any public places with my baby over Pesach. She said not to deprive her of fresh air and being outdoors in around my house but not to take her anywhere other than to visit people we know that are vaccinated.

I should have gotten a magnet when I got the MMR because I wanted a Dum Dum lollipop but those were on the pediatric side and it was a Friday afternoon and I needed to get home. The nurse gave me some stickers for my grandchildren but what I really deserved was a magnet.

I thought mmr is offered at 12 months not 9 months. Is it different now?

In affected areas they are giving the shot at 6 months. You still have to give 2 more shots.

These magnets unfortunately won't change anyone's view or minds that the orthodox jews don't vaccinate. The damage has been done. The non vaxxers have to clean up their own mess.

I'm pro-vaccination.

I'm avoiding areas with outbreaks, and think that the anti-vaccination people are a bunch of selfish flat-earthers.

But let's be honest. The people who hate Jews for this hated Jews before this. They're just finding a more socially acceptable outlet for their hatred -- ie, "I don't hate JEWS, I hate non-vaxers. Who happen to be Jews." Except, of course, most non-vaxers probably aren't Jewish.

The MTA has to answer for a driver who tried to refuse service to an Orthodox Jew saying that it was due to the measles, even though the passenger didn't have measles.

since the outbreak they are vaccinating at six months and up and then they need to still have the one at 12 months and the booster. She will have 3 MMRs instead of 2.

Haters will hate, but this goes further now. Even the decent people are becoming wary now because of all the media hype.

So the thing is, thats really not my experience. I have a lot of coworkers and also customers and clients....granted you cant always tell what theyre thinking inside, but we've always been very friendly and ive never seen even the slightest hint of them hating Jews. Nothing. And there really have been many opportunities. Theyre over all very decent people, many of my coworkers are people who I would even consider friends.

Now, they are just so ANGRY. they are spitting mad, furious at the orthodox community for not vaccinating and putting their babies etc at risk. Their fury alarms me.

And the truth is, why shouldnt they believe that orthodox Jews=antivaxers? Thats what they see. "Orthodox Jews spreading measles due to religious excemption" is basically the daily news.
They arent biased or antisemitic, they simply dont know otherwise.

Antisemites will find something else. You won't please them. I don't advertise who I vote to, or whoever, either.

Unfortunately you dont need to be an antisemite to be angry at Orthodox Jewish people right now.
We are the ones spreading the measles and everyone knows that, who wouldn't be angry?
