How much do couples typically give for a present for going to a bris with a catered seudah in shul in NY?

Maybe get a gift for baby. A cute 2-pc or sweater set, a toy, or anything else. Just tear of the tag/label and no one needs to know the price you spent.
Alternatively, a gift card of $50. Cash I would not give under $100. But I give cash only to nieces for a first baby. Not for just anyone.

Regular friends do not give $50 or$100 for every bris they attend. Most people give a toy or outfit -anywhere from $10 if you bought it on sale) to $25.
Technically this is NJ not NY so take my opinoin for what you want.

As a baby gift I usually give a nice stretchie up to $25. Sometimes I found for sale $5,10, 15,20. Person doesn't have to know how much you spend. It sometimes looks like you spend more.
For close family we all chip in together to buy a baby swing.
If you give cash or gift card it has be already a more significant amount to show the value.

You don't need to give anything. If you want to, make it small (unless they are particularly poor and you're trying to give tzedaka in a nice way)

I have made 4 brisim. I got some toys and outfits, a couple target gift cards and my friends made us meals. The only money I got was from a specific relative who gives money for occasions like birthdays etc. Most family bought baby items.
