My baby also had chronic ear infections and was supposed to go for surgery for tubes. I gave her a few of the Shaklee supplements for about 10 days to strengthen immune system and clear up the fluid, and took her off dairy and limited sugar and her infections Bh stopped, no fluid either. I continued giving her vitamin c and a multivitamin throughout the winter to keep it up.

I'll tell you my story. Have only read the OP.
Dd about age 2 was getting frequent ear infections. We were on the cusp of getting tubes (side note: I really liked the ENTs. Of all the specialists I've met the pediatric ENTs were great) when I tried acidopholous along with antibiotics. We went back to the ENT, presumably for him to schedule the tubes, and there was finally improvement, the fluid was clearing up.

A friend who is a knowledgeable but amateur homeopath had us try a few things, I can't remember one. B"H she was done. Oh, and I've heard of garlic oil drops but I don't think we ever tried it.

Now let me tell you another story. This is really my story. I had chronic ear infections, was constantly on antibiotics, and when I was in early elementary I had my tonsils out. B"H, no more problems. The next time I was ever on antibiotics was for strep in sem.

Whatever you do, please make a very informed decision. Hatzlacha!

For minor infections, St. Francis Herb Farm Ear Oil helps my kids.
But if it is a chronic problem and the kids are small, I would really not play around and get them assessed by an ENT.
I messed this up with my oldest and she had hearing problems and social delays as a result.

Same here. I didn't address the tubes fast enough and my oldest child had hearing issues which delayed his speech which resulted in social issues. After that I've learned to do tubes right away if needed.

I used oregano oil for my son and it prevented infection. It did not prevent fluid. I ended up doing tubes when he was 6 because it wasn't clearing up. I also used alfalfa and defend and resist from Shaklee. They all kept it under control but not clear. I took him to a reflexologist and chiropracter. They did not help much. He was also on a probiotic and off dairy, gluten and corn.

I had a few children with chronic ear infections. I found applying a garlic overnight on the ear with a band-aid to keep it in place, had the infection clear by the next morning. The smell is bad therefore I did this only at bedtime.

When I was a kid I had way too many ear infections. When I was 4 my mother stopped using anti biotics and just put a bit of warm flax seed oil into the infected ear while my head was resting on a table for 5 minutes, which stopped the pain. Additionally she gave me a teaspoon of flax seed oil 2 times a day. This really worked for me.

My baby had repeated ear infections. The pediatrician wanted to keep her on antibiotics all winter and possibly put tubes in. I decided to first try something else. Baruch Hashem, chiropractic treatements did the trick.
I also recall reading ( I think it was in Dr Leo Galland's book) that many times, taking the child off dairy stops teh cycle of chronic ear infections.

We had success with cranio sacral therapy. The first time we needed two sessions and then my DC childs nose was running for a week with clear liquid to drain everything. I do have to say that he is still prone to fluids in his ears and have to go for sessions again if I want to clear it.

I'm looking for someone good that does cranio sacral therapy in Brooklyn, can you or anyone else recommend a good one.
Thanks

Can you please share your most effective remedy for chronic ear infections in smaller children. Please indicate if this is for fluid in the ear or for ear infections or for busted ear drums and so on.
Please indicate how often you have to treat in order to see results and what's the story with follow up.
Thank you so much for taking the time.

I haven’t read through the thread but if it wasn’t suggested already, get the kid off dairy immediately! My child had nine ear infections in one year and I took him off all dairy and he was pretty much free of infections right after that. Dairy is known to cause ear infections in sensitive kids.

Just curious if any imas here ever had an ear infection? The pain is beyond excruciating. I understand that u want to do natural stuff.... But pls dont just do garlic oil. At least give Tylenol for pain. (I had one myself...it's really painful)
And of ur baby or kid fails hearing test, pls pls do tubes. My 8 month old is getting tubes Wednesday morning. Of course I'm nervous cuz he is so young, but he failed his hearing test. He had 10 ear infections in 7 months that came alonng with wheezing and other breathing issues)

My oldest had ear infections from 3 months old continuous until 18 months old. I medicated, I did natural, I tried everything. I would hear all the stories of how people got rid of ear infections and didn't have to do tubes. But he wasn't speaking, was very fidgety, and was always sick as a result of the ear infections (numerous pneumonias..)
I gave in, did the tubes, and he became a different child!

My third had her first ear infection at 10 weeks old. By her I never medicated-I did the MR Ear Drops, because I saw that with my first, medication was only a brief respite. So it was the same here-I would do the drops, it would clear up, I would do them only twice a day, and the infection would be back. I emptied for sure 5-6 bottles into her ears.
In either case, she got a terrible burn, needed surgery as a result, and once that was happening, with Hashem's help I moved heaven and earth and got an ENT to put in tubes while they put her under.

I definitely feel both of these kids did not hear for the first year of their life, and my oldest needed speech therapy for articulation. My daughter is still not speaking, only has some very unclear words, and is almost two. I'm not concerned, but I know that it is because she did not hear sounds correctly for the first 14 months approximately.

So be careful, make an informed decision, and remember to trust your motherly intuition.

Like I said in my post, I definitely feel that the ear infections wear down the immune system, and my son was always running fevers and under the weather until we did tubes.

My dd had fluid and ear infections constantly for 2 years. She was scheduled to put in tubes. A friend called me to tell me to try Panto-c and kyolic. I put 1 teaspoon of each into a little bit of grape juice twice a day. 2 week later, no fluid and she didn't have another ear infection for many years. She kept taking it once a day for about about 4 years.

(He is on omnicef so I hope it doesn't get pushed off) he's also pulling his ears Non-Stop even with giving Tylenol pretty often. I feel so bad for him

Skimmed through the thread briefly.
We raise the head of the bed for all my kids so they sleep on an angle (helps to drain the ears) and we flush our kids's noses out with hydra-sense. Yes, when they are young, we hold them down, but our older kids now flush their noses on their own. After flushing the nostrils, we suck out mucus in the younger children; b'h the older kids have learned to blow their noses. With this recipe, none of our dc have had ear infections k'ah for many years despite getting colds etc.

I know a kid who had tubes put in 6x before age 7. Mother didn't try anything but what doctor recommended. Kid now has hearing aid because all those tubes left a hole in his ear drum that didn't close. They're hoping it'll close by itself.

My son had ear infections one after another from age 2 months. He was on numerous rounds of antibiotics and I tried garlic oil to no avail. When he was 18 months he got tubes. He is 3 now and the tubes have not helped one bit and are completely worthless. Since the tubes he has continued to get ear infections very frequently and has been on both oral antibiotics and antibiotic ear drops. We also did preventative ear drops but they didn’t really help. As a matter of fact I suspect he has an ear infection now and am taking him to the doctor tomorrow.
So tubes don’t work for everyone.

Just want to say also that my son who gets very frequent ear infections does not appear to be in pain from it. He does not cry or tell me it hurts or pull his ear. The only symptoms are a bad cough and runny nose, as soon as he presents with that I take him to the doctor.
Bh if he has to have this problem with ear infections, at least he’s not in pain.
