I've went to Aldi's several times and then just gave up. Their produce prices are great, but the fruit/veggies were consistently overripe. I went a few times to get the great sale prices, but the produce was awful. Then, I bought strawberries a few times, and inside the container they were moldy. Don't bother there anymore.

I've heard that some of the breads, rolls or bagels there can possibly be pas yisroel without being labeled as such. Does anyone have more info on this?

I don't go mainly for the produce at all. Sometimes it's great, but often it's just ok, and I can get better prices elsewhere anyway. I save a ton of money on the groceries though.

I find with Aldi you must go first thing in the morning right when they put the produce out because then you get all the fresh stuff

Yeah, I went late one afternoon and they were out of onions.
Let's see:
Nuts - peanuts, salted no oil added almonds
Vegetables and other produce
Eggs
Pickles
Flour, spray, oil, sugars
Cereal - generic crispy rice, choc crispy rice, Chex
Frozen veg.
Tomato sauce, tomato paste, canned tomatoes
Refrigerated pickles, though not cheaper than other supermarkets, but hey, I'm there anyway.

What else....

If you have any problems with the produce, they stand behind it and will give you a refund if you bring it back to the store.

The produce situation in my Aldi is a disaster.
I only buy things where brand doesn't matter. To me, nothing compares to Tropicana orange juice or Heinz ketchup. No matter how similar the dupe is.
I buy nuts and dried fruit, pretzels, oatmeal, fit & active snacks, sometimes toys

Don't get too excited. The one in Nanuet next to the Monsey area is grossly mismanaged, I wouldn't step in there if you pay me.

Lowest prices I’ve ever seen but the chain store is German owned...

FYI They are no more German owned than TJs.

Aldi in Europe split into 2 businesses in 1960: Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud. The former is known as "Trader Joe's" in the US. The latter is known as "Aldi" in the US.

I know.
Same family as trader joe.

I Used to shop there all the time until my dh asked me to stop.

He Didn’t want me to support a business owned by ppl that may have killed my great aunts and uncles and tortured my grandmother.

I’d love to hear they saved 100s of Jews so I can shop there again…

I think that if you buy it with the skin, you can. That's what I found online. Nobody should rely on here say so you might want to look it up yourself.

Most mainstream hechsherim allow raw salmon even without skin due to their very distinctive color being a siman. If no hechsher, should wash off before using in case of knives from other fish being used.

Crc and star k allow without hechsher
Rinse prior to use.
My Rav prefers you buy farmed (not wild), with skin on.
Some will advise to gently run a knife along all the parts that were touched by a knife and then rinse after.
