Hi,
I am almost 3 months out of gastric bypass surgery. I have lost 65 lbs so far and I feel great. I’m very very nervous about fasting on 9 av since I constantly drink and get excessively thirsty all the time. My dr said it’s ok to fast for 24 hours but I’ve heard ppl ending up in the hospital from dehydration. Does anyone have any experience with fasting after WLS?

Ask your Rav he might be able to be lenient. My husband did bariatric surgery and his Rav will permit him to break his fast if necessary.

Get advise from your Dr before asking the Rav
I know that fasting the first few months up to a year is not advised

Get advise from your dr
Ask him if you should increase electrolytes a few days before the fast
I put in my jug of water 1 tsp magnesium, 1 tsp potassium, 1 tsp Himalayan salt, 2 TBSP apple cider vinegar.
I did not have any surgery
PLEASE BEFORE YOU DO THIS ASK YOUR DR.
