You need to be careful with him. He has two personalities. Certain patients, particularly if he knows the whole family or if you are a strong, aggressive kind of person who knows how to give back what you get, get great service and have no idea what other women are complaining about.

Important to know, thanks.
I know what you mean. I've experienced being on the good side of certain nurses yet others have had very rude experiences. It helps to know.

Would anyone know if any of these 2 offices mentioned (RWJ and Baum) are confidential? I've seen many threads on here complaining about the lack of confidentiality in Lakewood medical offices.

For me, I always found Dr. Baum's office to be confidential. It is a very professional office, not too busy, with very skilled doctors. If not for Baum at delivery, everyone agrees I would have had a C-section

Another vote for RWJ OBGYN.

Very professional, very knowledgeable. And yes as far as I know very confidential as well.

How can an office be not confidential?
But yes RWJ is confidential.
Just stay away from the frum dr in the practice if you have a thing against frum doctors... (although he is an AMAZING doctor!)

I like RWJ OB/GYN as well. I especially like Dr Segal, he has been very caring and professional.
As a group, they are definitely on the cautious side and take everything very seriously.

I agree with your assessment that it is probably not swamped due them not taking Jersey Care.

Another vote for RWJOBGYN Associates, here. Its a group of four male and three female doctors. Dr. Joshua Segal, Dr. John Lundberg and Dr. Elizabeth Colonna are my personal favorites there. They do not take pregnancy or babies for granted and everything is done very professionally (and yes, cautiously). I have found that there is a wait in the waiting froom before most appointments, but maybe its the time of day that I usually come. (Between 11:30 and 1:30pm)

As far as confidentiality, I find rwj to be very careful about it- noise machines running in every room and even closing the window at the secretary's desk so people in the waiting don't overhear things. I used to use another practice locally where you could overhear the doctors conversation in the next room through the wall:-(

I see many votes for RWJ. What hospital do they deliver in, how far is it from Lakewood/TR?

They're known to be very cautious. That's the only downside I heard about then

1. That wouldn't be a downside.
2. I havent found them to be worrywarts at all. Just knowledgeable, helpful, and devoted to helping women have healthy pregnancies and babies.

Dr. Baum. He is located in Freehold, but is by far the best. He has gotten me through quite a difficult situation. He deals with complex cases too. Is very professional. There are another 3 doctors with him in practice. They are all great, some better than others, but all great.

Thank you, I'm getting good vibes about Dr. Baum, and the hospital he delivers in is closer correct?
I feel like if I need to drive an hour to the hospital in labor I may as well stay with my Brooklyn doctors and deliver in Staten Island which is just a little over an hour away.

Any negatives to take into account with Dr. Baum?

I never used them but someone told me they are quick to prescribe bed rest, do a c section etc.

My relative is leaving them because the ultrasound showed a very sick baby but the specialist who they were sent to said it's nothing. The doctor still made them do a bunch of follow up testing which showed baby is fine and of course baby was born perfectly healthy. I think she is anxious in general and felt horrible a whole pregnancy and didn't appreciate more unnecessary anxiety. Let's not forget that fear of malpractice generates most over testing.

How exactly did this play out? If your relative is anxious, did she hear then correctly?
In my experience they say, "looks like this MAY reflect xxx, or it may be totally harmless. Let's take a look at it further and see. It will probably be ok!"
