So there's a poster who keeps declaring that parents must be capable and not heavily depend on their teens and it got me thinking:
Do parents depend on their teens to take care of THEM?? no! They depend on their teens to take care of themselves and their family's life.
You want kids to have "highly capable" parents who only give chores as a "learning experience" if at all. These kids grow up to be lazy incapable bums who do nothing at all all day and just demand their parents do for them.

That's the goal.
Don't depend heavily on your teens.
Don't raise them to be lazy, incapable and demanding.
