Have they done blood tests to check for Lyme, strep, EBV?

Do a throat culture for strep. I have seen kids limp/ not walk from that with no other symptoms.

Dd had this as a toddler couldn't walk one day. Her blood showed high white count but they couldn't figure out the infection. They gave her broad range antibiotics and steroids and BH in two days was getting better.
Please keep advocating for her until you get to the bottom of it.

Had this when my child was 1.
It was strep, after 36 hours of antibiotics she walked again.
I had to push for the culture because apparently under 2 year olds “don’t get strep”
Get a culture.

You misunderstood. A child of any age can get strep, but many docs don't test under the age of 2 because under 2 it does not lead to rheumatic fever if left untreated. Typically it resolves on its own.
However, in an incidence where a child suddenly stops walking, I would definitely test for strep and Lyme like others have mentioned.

[quote="amother [ Burlywood ]"]Please don't make OP seem like a bad guy for sending her toddler away! Don't guilt her into this being her fault!
I had it with my toddler. She refused to walk & the Dr dismissed it as a virus. Till after 10 days she got a huge bump on her knee, we went to the ER she had an infection in her knee bone that neered surgery to remove most of her knee bone and a hospital stay & meds for afew months.
If you notice any fever, go back to the ER right away.[/quot
I wasn't being judgy, sorry if it came across that way. Just offering an alternative to medical conditions

My daughter had this when she was almost 2. She fell by PT which aggravated it and couldn’t walk until she was on strong antibiotics to get rid of the infection. She was hospitalized for a week. She has permanent damage in her spine from this. Was freighting till we figured out what was going on

We had this once and were sent to CHOP where DS was admitted and spent a full week. It took a week of testing to find out that he had an infection in his bone and needed IV antibiotics. He recovered BH.

Yes it's called transient synovitis. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. My son had this. It can take a week or two until it passes through the body.

Our son stopped walking suddenly for a few days. It was Perthes (LCPD)--a deterioration of a bone in the hip. A simple xray should detect that, though. The bone eventually regenerates over the course of months.
Hatzlucha.

My son had this. It took months to finally get a diagnosis. He was diagnosed with JRA. A type of arthritis. It was quite severe.
