Plz! My daughter's in a school where the parent body is higher income. We are not. And I don't know what's in style today so I can't even fake it. I tried to look at stores people here shop in but there was such a mishmash of styles!

She wanted a turtle neck. But, to what?! And how can I make her lokk "in fashion" without breaking the bank?

Please! I'm so embarrassed to ask but I've got to do this

They sell ribbed turtlenecks today.
I like a solid black with a solid colored skirt. Something like hunter green or rust

Pair a ribbed turtleneck with corduroy or velour overalls dress.

I bought ribbed turtlenecks from Primark for $10, they are soft and look high end. Black Paired with either a solid, thick (wool) skirt in a color (I like hunter green), or a metallic skirt looks great. For weekday, you can do other color turtlenecks with a short, a-line black skirt,
Sweatshirt dresses, velour dresses or metallic knit turtlenecks with a black skirt.
If you truly don't know what's in style, there will be lots of sales soon in the frum stores too.

I am not in style and don't usually notice these things, but on shabbos I noticed a former student of mine, now in eighth grade.
She was dressed simply but beautifully.
Black knit turtle neck (maybe mock?) With a gold knit skirt, vertical black lines downward, sort of looked like accordion pleats, but wasn't

Just went through this with DD the same age. We ended up with two turtlenecks from Walmart, an ivory winter white one and a black one. We paired the ivory one with a black accordion skirt and the black one with a solid colored skirt.
