My daughter's teacher does this and has the students grade each other. It is a horrible and demeaning experience for kids who often get things wrong. Even if you are a math teacher, you teach other things as well. And one of them is your sensitivity or lack thereof to others. |
I don’t let the kids grade each other. I have every kid make 3 and put them into a side show or worksheet or index cards that the whole class does and I grade.

Yes, having kids grade each other is cruel, I can't understand why there are teachers who think it's a good idea.
But having kids make up problems WITHOUT grading each other is an excellent learning exercise. Of course kids who need support should get that.
